Carnarvon Gorge

This is teh place for a walk: Quite pretty gorge with 10km trail (one way) up the river, with different side gorges and paintings along it! At some places I was thinking of Indiana Jones, pushing through rainforest foliage.. Actually some spots are the only places where truly ancient plants are still groving. Not that I would have known without the helpful information posts.

Camel boots, for men walking their own paths, as the old marketing slogan goes. The trail crossed over the river in many places, and after crossing 13, it was safer just to wade to the other side than to jump from a stone to a stone. I wonder how the shoes look like, after they have dried out...

Really awsome scenery I have to say. And I think it is quite ok to walk for a change.

Did you do this walk by yourself or is there others around?

I set off just by myself, and just met some people on the trail, say maybe five other groups. But only two people after crossing 14, as the trail was quite damaged by the floods. In places it was just swept off or fallen trees were everywhere, making it a bit more challenging to move forward. This section was about 40% of the total length :-)

Oh that remines me to the good old times.... Wanna be there too. It's so amazing and you are so lucky. Enjoy every single second and meter over there!
